a) Job Specifications

Duties and responsibilities: -

  1. Processing of purchase requisition;
  2. carrying out procurement of Air tickets and follow-up on the same;
  3. preparing Local Purchase Orders / Local Service orders for timely authorization and dispatch to suppliers;
  4. Assisting users in preparing specifications;
  5. Inviting quotations;
  6. Participating in tender opening and evaluation;
  7. Carrying out market surveys and research;
  8. Participating in quotation opening and evaluation;
  9. Processing of purchase orders;
  10. Participating in inspection and acceptance of goods and services;
  11. Receiving of stores and taking them on charge;
  12. Recommending stores requisitions for issuing;
  13. Monitoring the movement of stores;
  14. Checking and verifying issue notes and invoices;
  15. Receiving and processing suppliers’ invoices for payment;
  16. Preparing of periodic stores returns;
  17. Establishing appropriate reorder level;
  18. Preparing requisitions for stocks replenishment;
  19. Participating in stock taking and reconciliation of records;
  20. Guiding user departments in identifying stores and equipment for disposal;
  21. carrying out the direct Purchases of low value items;
  22. filing and maintaining procurement documents;
  23. Compiling and availing supporting documentations for payments.

b) Persons Specification

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: -

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Procurement/ Social Sciences / Purchasing /Commerce / Economics or related discipline;
  2. Certificate in Computer proficiency;
  3. Good communication skills.
  4. Compliance with chapter six of the constitution.
